On December 22, 2017, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (the "New Tax Act") was signed by the President, representing the first major tax reform in over 30 years, and impacts the municipal bond market in significant ways. This Webinar will discuss both the direct and indirect effects of the New Tax Act on municipal bonds, including the elimination of tax-exempt advance refundings and federal tax deductions for state and local taxes.

The specific learning objectives are:

  • Review the direct and indirect effects of the new Tax Act on the municipal bond market
  • Understand the impact of the elimination of tax-exempt advance refundings and hear about possible new structures being developed to replicate their effect
